Mint Juleps in Winter

Last night the BF and I went for a nightcap at a favorite neighborhood spot, Church. In spite of the polar vortex happening outside, I was in the mood for something light and refreshing. I ended up ordering a Mint Julep, the official drink of the Kentucky Derby as well as the very antithesis of winter. Although I will say I was disappointed my drink didn’t come in a silver beaded cup. Below are some Julep-y inspirations:

I especially love some of these delicious-looking modified Mint Juleps: Sparkling Blackberry Mint Julep, Pomegranate Cranberry Mint Julep, Blueberry Mint Juleps from one of my favorite bloggers How Sweet It Is, and Grilled Watermelon Mint Julep. How ready for spring are you now?

  1. Nothing wrong with breaking with convention; I’m featuring a Tom Collins today as a suggestion for a Super Bowl party…it’s not just for summer anymore!

Thanks for including my blackberry mint julep; reminded of just how great it was; I should make one with blueberries to serve when our Broncos play next week!

concerning your search for the perfect headboard perhaps you and Andy should leave it up to your readers to vote. They can help you decide on the dark wood or the unholstered and if you don’t like the vote, do what you want. gramum
